Good evening VHS parents and community, here are your weekly announcements. First, as another reminder, this Friday marks the end of the quarter. Third, VHS will be a voting center from October 30th through November 3rd. Good evening VHS parents and community members, this is your weekly update. First and foremost, I wanted to apologize again for the last minute cancellation of picture day last week. While it was not what any of us intended to happen, it was likely a good thing it occurred. On Thursday, in an meeting update between LACOE and LA Department of Public Health with county school districts, clarification and direction was given that picture days cannot occur at schools. As a result, we will be postponing picture day until that direction has been changed. As a reminder to all, the end of the quarter is next Friday, students should be working with their teachers on turning in assignments. As mentioned before, grades count, and can have major consequences if credits are not earned during the semester. Also, please remember, simply showing up to a class does not mean your students are doing their work. Please, help us be proactive and check your child's AERIES account and grades regularly. That is all for this week! Have a great evening and continue to be safe and healthy.
Good morning all, I apologize for the inconvenience. This morning our photography vendor did not show up; when we called the company they indicated that they did not calendar our date today even though we were confirmed early in September with our area representative. Therefore, we will not be doing pictures today. We will be working to try and schedule another date. Students please continue to check Google Classroom for assignments.
Hello VHS Families
First, as a reminder this Wednesday will be picture day between 8:00 and 12:00 based on your last name. Please review the schedule sent in previous messages. A reminder email will be sent tomorrow evening as well. Please remember that students will not engage in Zoom meetings on Wednesday due to picture day, however, students may still have assigned independent work or assignments to complete Wednesday. They should still check their Google Classroom for all classes. Second, we are half way through the first quarter. Please ensure you are checking on your child's progress, the quarter will end in mid-October. This will affect student eligibility for athletics/activities if they are below a 2.0 GPA. Last, I would like to encourage everybody to check out our MTV broadcast for last week at the following link: MTV Broadcast #4
That is all for this week, please stay safe and healthy!
Good evening VHS parents and students,
Next Wednesday, September 30, we will be having picture day. The times will be between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm based on the student's last name.
A - D will be from 8:00 - 9:00
E - L will be from 9:00 - 10:00
M - R will be from 10:00 - 11:00
S - Z will be from 11:00 - 12:00
Student's will not participate in any Zoom sessions with teachers that day, however teachers will still be assigning work to be done and completed for that day. Students need to ensure they are still checking their Google Classroom for any assignments that may be due.
Students will be dropped off in the student drop off lane and checked-in by the gym. The students will then be placed in a socially distanced line to get their picture taken. Once the picture is taken the students will exit the gym through the doors that lead to the athletic fields. The process should be less than 5 minutes. Parents, please park or pull around the gym to wait for your children.
ALL students are REQUIRED to have a face covering while on campus. The only time it may be taken off is briefly for the picture.
Hello VHS Families
