AADUSD COVID-19 Parent Notification 3/13/20

Dear AADUSD Parents and Students,

We are continuing to navigate an unprecedented public health crisis in our community, our state and much of the world.

Since the COVID-19 coronavirus first emerged, we have followed the guidance of the Los Angeles County Office of Education and the California Department of Public Health in making preventative changes in our schools and programs. As this situation continues to evolve, the Los Angeles County Office of Education has now recommended school closures throughout Los Angeles County.

The Acton Agua Dulce Unified School District will be closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27, 2020.

During this time, all schools, activities, including athletic events and practices, are canceled

Beginning Monday, March 16th, parents may bring children ages 0 - 18 to get a free meal at High Desert School from 10:00 - 11:30 each weekday. Children do not need to be district students to benefit from the government-sponsored meal program.  More details will be available on the website.

Please refer to our district website to get grade level lesson plans and materials for your student. These lesson plans are here for your convenience and are not mandatory.   I would like to thank our teachers for all of their efforts in gathering and providing these resources.

During the break, we encourage everyone in our community to follow recommended practices by avoiding large gatherings, washing hands frequently, and covering mouths when coughing or sneezing. If you are concerned about symptoms, please consult with a doctor.

We will continue to monitor this very dynamic public health situation and will plan to provide updates during the course of this closure. All District correspondence will be sent via email, posted on our app and our website, as well as posted on our District Facebook and Twitter pages.

During operational hours 8 am to 4:30 pm, a receptionist will be available by telephone (661 998-9396).

I have been working closely with my colleagues in the AV. Nearby districts will be closed for the next 2 to 4 weeks. Some of them include spring breaks that were previously scheduled.

Thank you for your support and cooperation during this time.

Lawrence M. King

Superintendent, Acton Agua Dulce USD
