Ms. Zuly Quezada
About Me:
My name is Zuly Quezada and I am the new school counselor at High Desert School. I have more than 20 years of experience working with “at risk” children and
families. Prior to my position at Acton-Agua Dulce School District, I worked as a K-12 school counselor, pre-licensed therapist, and social worker in different settings. I
have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Additionally, I am a Certified Parenting Instructor, a Certified Social Emotional Arts Counselor and I hold a Child Welfare & Attendance credential.
I am fortunate to work in a multicultural and multilingual community where I can utilize my knowledge and skills to support our students and their parents. I am of
the belief that “it takes a village to raise a child,” and strive to build a comprehensive school counseling program that supports the academics and well-being of our
students; while enhancing the parenting skills of the community.
When I am not working, you will find me spending time with my family, in nature, or traveling. I am a learner at heart, and I love to read about health, the body, and mind connection. I love to dance and aim to bring out the physical movement and creativity of my students. This helps them release negative emotions in a
socially accepted manner to consequently increase their academic achievement and attendance.
