Our Super Scholar this week comes from Mrs. Englers class. This scholar answers difficult questions and shares her knowledge with her classmates. Congratulations to Samantha Hamrick.
Another Super Scholar is an eager learner and always comes to school ready to learn. Congratulations to Elijah Christou in Mrs. Sutliff’s class.
Tomorrow, Oct. 1st is Picture Day. Your child should have come home with a picture envelope for payment and choice of poses. Envelopes are available in the office, if you need another one.
October has also been recognized nationally and by our district as Dyslexia Awareness Month. Dyslexia is a brain based learning disorder that can affect a child’s ability to read. It occurs in people of all backgrounds and intellectual levels. Awareness of the symptoms of dyslexia is important so early interventions can be implemented. Acton Library will have a special display available with books and information on Dyslexia. And a bulletin board in the front hallway of Meadowlark will also be on display with more information.
Our Raptor Visitor Management System also begins tomorrow. Please be prepared to show a picture ID, such as a Driver’s license, to the office if you plan on going on campus. All adults 18 years of age and older will be required to use this system. We appreciate your patience as we implement this system as another measure of keeping our kids safe at school.
Finally, Parent Conferences will be coming up in a couple of weeks Please check your child’s backpack for directions on signing up for conferences on Sign-Up Genius. The information is also on the Meadowlark website. If you have any difficulties or have questions about signing up, please contact your child’s teacher.
