Distance Learning Options

All AADUSD families will automatically be assigned to Online Distance Learning, unless the Homeschool Program is requested.

 

 

 Online Distance Learning – (Distance Learning provided by AADUSD teachers)

 

The 2020-21 school year will begin in the 100% distance learning.

• This online learning model is 100% virtual.
• Students will be required to log into a virtual meeting daily and attendance will be taken.
• Within this model, all instruction, grading, and assessments will be provided by their assigned AADUSD teacher.
• There will be be live interaction with teacher and peers.
• Additional asynchronous instruction each day.

 

 

 

Homeschool:

 

• The Homeschool learning model is 100% virtual similar to Independent Study. Students will be enrolled in a digital curriculum, and will receive all instruction through the digital curriculum platform.  Rather than AADUSD teachers.  Weekly check-ins with an AADUSD teacher will be required for grades TK-5.
• Students will be required to log into a virtual meeting daily and attendance will be taken.
• Within this model, all instruction, grading, and assessments will be provided by Edgenuity for grades 6-12.
• Parents must commit to a trimester (for grades TK-4) or semester (for grades 5-12), and may request returning to Hybrid Learning, or Distance Learning, at least two weeks prior to the end of the trimester/semester. (When schools are cleared by the Dept. of Public Health to return to campus).
  

The request will be granted if there is room at the school site.

• A full year commitment is encouraged.
• Parents may also request Homeschool, no later than 10 days after the school year begins. After that date, the parent may make a request for the start of the next trimester or semester.
• Students in grades TK-5 will be enrolled in core classes.
• Secondary students, grades 6-12, will enroll in six courses.
